Stuck On The Stairs of My Past

The LORD reminded me yesterday of many years ago of Him calling me to prayer all night. Although I could hear the urgency of the call. There was always a nagging feeling that I needed someone else to be there to pray with me. Never ever had the feeling been put in check. Throughout my journey every assignment Abba Father entrusted me I found someone else to do it for me. This led to a downward spiral without realizing the needing and giving it to someone else was really a spirit of rebellion. Also, with regards to praying throughout the night was really a personal walk of intimacy with Abba Father.    Hidden deep and embedded in the chambers of my heart were traumatic experiences which held me captive and laden with sin. Without realizing it I was a slave to fear and tried to please everyone. Something far sinister was happening! No matter what was coming against me I refused to fight back or even respond. However, the call to pray throughout the night continued persistently. One night

Gentle Loving Spirit

Mama Rosie was a giver and always sowed into our lives, especially the grandchildren. She baked the best Macaroni ever made and at Family Day gatherings this was the number one request! Mama Rosie had a passion for gardening and spent much time in her beautiful garden which gave me profound inspiration to write. I always looked forward to visits to sit and speak with her while listening to her powerful words of wisdom. However, I could not leave unless I spent some time in her beautiful garden.   Mama Rosie returned from the hospital. She said, “Margaret, my travelling days are over! Jesus is holding my hand.” She did not mince her words and exemplified courage and strength while she looked away. Mama Rosie’s words are a comfort to me as is the harsh reality really sunk in that, she is gone. Which saddens me to the core of my being and reminded of daddy's words in a dream before his passing. On the phone was Mama Rosie, she said, Margaret, Daddy wants to speak with you. His words,

THE BIG ROCK

This past weekend just before the prayer meeting ended, a big dog came sniffing, and as this animal climbed the steps to enter the Church building. Its eyes met mine, backing away the dog continued sniffing the grounds to find whatever it had come to retrieve. Watching the dog reminded me of my return to Sunday morning worship services only two weeks ago. Little did I know what awaited me as I stepped out of the bus to assist my daughter. My shoes stepped into a load of what the dog left. It took fifteen minutes to clean the mess off. Frustrated, I said aloud, wait until I see that dog! Two weeks later, praise and worship. I felt a tugging to go outside to the front gate and raise my hand toward the skies. In obedience, I turned to go back into the Church service. However, my attention was on three large dogs. They were lying comfortably near the educational building. Strangely, the moment the dogs spotted me, one of them stood up and barked at me viciously. I picked up a few little

The Power of Influence Part Two

Recently there was an unction to pray via the telephone with my sister, who lived overseas. Afterward, she exclaimed, Margaret, that is how Mama prayed! My response was! There was only a memory of her standing at the kitchen, holding the broom, which she had made. Mama awakened before dawn. The delicious aroma of her bread filled the atmosphere, and before sunrise, Mama had completed all her household chores and was prepared to go with my grandfather into the fields to do another day of work. There must have been an exceptional special bond between us, but I was too young to understand. My sister shared Mama’s consistent, persistent, and relentless prayers. Lead to the healing hand of Jesus, to my lifeless body at three weeks old. Mama’s facial expressions had faded.    My Mother, Margaret Gwendolyn nee Hall Spence, after accepting Jesus Christ as her personal Saviour, synchronized about preparing me for the journey. All I wanted to do was to stay on the outside, playing with the other
