This past weekend just before the prayer meeting ended, a big dog came sniffing, and as this animal climbed the steps to enter the Church building. Its eyes met mine, backing away the dog continued sniffing the grounds to find whatever it had come to retrieve. Watching the dog reminded me of my return to Sunday morning worship services only two weeks ago. Little did I know what awaited me as I stepped out of the bus to assist my daughter. My shoes stepped into a load of what the dog left. It took fifteen minutes to clean the mess off. Frustrated, I said aloud, wait until I see that dog! Two weeks later, praise and worship. I felt a tugging to go outside to the front gate and raise my hand toward the skies. In obedience, I turned to go back into the Church service. However, my attention was on three large dogs. They were lying comfortably near the educational building. Strangely, the moment the dogs spotted me, one of them stood up and barked at me viciously. I picked up a few little rocks and threw them in their direction, but this did not phase them. I remembered Nehemiah as he proceeded to rebuild the wall of Jerusalem in the book of Nehemiah. I picked up a big rock, held it to my side, and walked toward the three dogs. Suddenly, they stopped barking and fled with great speed. Curious to see how the dogs were able to gain access to the grounds. Found there was an opening underneath the fence. I threw the brick on the hole as the Word spoke from the book of Deuteronomy chapter 32 verse (30) How should one chase a thousand, and two put ten thousand, and two put ten thousand to flight, except their Rock had sold them, and the LORD had shut them up? Very quickly, I made steps toward the Church building and could hardly contain myself. The question spoke vividly from the book of 2 Samuel chapter 22 verse (32) For who is God, save the LORD? And who is a rock, save our God?
The revelation came forth, that, while Yahweh’s people are high in praise and worship. The adversary is also at work in their craftiness. There is a clarion call for the sleeping men and women of Yahweh to awaken from slumber not only during praise and worship but daily. The dogs knew what time to make their illegal entry, but they wanted to launch their attack on me. The time is now for the people of God to stand victoriously in Christ Jesus without fear or intimidation against unnumbered foes. The Apostle Paul wrote in his Epistle of Ephesians chapter 6 he wrote to the Christians of Ephesus spoke to me from the verse (12) For we wrestle not against flesh and blood but principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. We must put on the Full Armour of God. Verse (13) Wherefore take unto you the whole Armour of God, that ye may be able to stand in the evil day and having done all, to stand.
Wherever you are on your journey if you have not encountered any warfare. Prepare! For it is inevitable. I Returned to fellowship after a short illness. I cleaned what the dog had left on the ground. At some point, I became so angry I said, Lord, this is what greets me before going into Your house? You wait until I see that dog! At this point, frustration was creeping in, but God was up to something greater than I could ever imagine. Leaving the worship service to go outside was strategic. Obedience is God’s timing; this was to catch the dogs and at the same time foil the plans of the adversary. I was directed to the Big Rock and had placed it at my side without any traces of fear. What took the nerve of the dogs was the walk! It was as if they saw not me but someone else. The way they backed up and fled! The Big Rock was by my side and represented Jesus Christ Himself! The Gospel of Matthew chapter 16 sums up the Big Rock in these two verses (17) Jesus answered and said unto him, blessed art thou, Simon Barjona for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. Verse (18) I say also unto thee, that thou art Peter, and upon this rock, I will build my church: and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. Verse (19) And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. I placed the big rock over the hole that the dogs had dug and remembered what Jesus said in His parable from the Gospel of Matthew chapter 21 verse (44) whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken but on whomsoever, it shall fall, it will grind him to powder. These dogs will not return! No matter how the warfare intensifies in your life. Stay focused and never lose sight of the Big Rock, Jesus Christ. He is right there with you as you walk to your place of Divine Destiny!
