The Levite and His Concubine

In those days there was no King in Israel: every man did that which was right in his own eyes.  Judges Chapter 21 Verse 25. KJV. There was a time in Israel, when there was no King and the people did whatever pleased them without seeking God.  Could it be possible that we as a people and nation is swiftly becoming the same way?  While you are pondering that question, let’s read from the book of Judges Chapter 19 beginning verse (1) And it came to pass in those days, when there was no king in Israel, that there was a certain Levite sojourning on the side of Mount Ephraim, who took to him a concubine out of Bethlehem-Judah.  Verse (2) And his concubine played the whore against him, and went away from him unto her father’s house to Bethlehem-Judah, and was there four whole months.  Verse (3) And her husband arose and went after her, to speak friendly unto her, and to bring her again, having his servant with, and a couple of asses: and she brought him to her father’s house: and

He opened His Word to the book of 1 Kings Chapter 17 and illuminated my mind with the story of the widow woman of Zarephath; she was the Winning Candidate.  Let’s read it together beginning at verse (1) “And Elijah the Tishbite, who was of the inhabitants of Gilead said unto Ahab, As the LORD God of Israel liveth, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these many years, but according to my word.” Verse (2) “And the word of the LORD came unto him, saying,” Verse (3) “ Get thee hence, and turn thee eastward, and hide thyself by the brook Cherith, that is before Jordan.  V
