Empty Shouts

The place called the gulley in the quaint settlement of Rock Sound on the island of Eleuthera reminded me of the many times I visited there to play with my siblings and friends.   We would shout to the top of our voices and listened as our shouts could be heard echoing throughout the settlement and it made us feel powerful but truth be known, they were empty shouts that reminded me of how the children of Israel were being slain by their enemies, the Philistines on every side. They went and brought the Ark of the Covenant of God into their camp because they knew this represented His presence.   Then as rejoiced and shouted so loudly, the ground on which they stood was shaken.   Their enemies heard the shouts and at first, they were afraid!   Let’s pick up the story from the book of 1 Samuel Chapter four beginning at verse (5) “ And when the ark of the covenant came into the camp, all Israel shouted with a great shout so that the earth rang again. Sleep In

After a hard and gruelling week and a traffic mishap, my foot ached and soon I found myself limping because of the pain in the foot, but I received a wonderful breakthrough in prayer which brought me to the decision to sleep in on Saturday.   What a restless battle throughout the night:   Thanks to my Abba, Father, He spoke the Word of the book of Isaiah      Chapter 58 verse (13) “ If thou turn away thy foot from the Sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the Sabbath a delight, the holy of the LORD , honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words.” This Word quickened within for as I lay upon my bed, I had picked up my cell phone and was looking at my notifications, when I heard Abba, Father say, Margaret, you need to power off your phone!   Eventually, I yielded and obediently turned off my cell phone.   Shortly thereafter I drifted to sleep; waking at various intervals.   Communing
