On your journey, there are many pitfalls and dangers along the way, but Yahweh has equipped you with everything you need. However, when you have completed your kingdom assignments, will God hear your prayer? For we can become so busy doing lots of things for God, that we can diminish the time we spend in communing with Him. During my devotional time this morning, the book of 2 Chronicles chapter 7 caught my attention, my heart wept as the Word ministered to me of how King Solomon finished the house of the LORD and God answered his prayer. Read it for yourself from the verse (1) Now when Solomon had made an end of praying, the fire came down from heaven, and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices; and the glory of the LORD filled the house. Verse (2) And the priest could not enter into the house of the LORD, because the glory of the LORD had filled the LORD’S house. Something miraculous happens when you (me too) finish your kingdom assignment, people will be saved and worship the true and living God. After you have completed your Kingdom Assignment, Will you still have sweet communion with God? Verse (3) And when all the children of Israel saw how the fire came down, and the glory of the LORD upon the house, they bowed themselves with their faces to the ground upon the pavement, and praised the LORD, saying, For he is good for his mercy endureth forever. These next two verses are key verses (11) Thus Solomon finished the house of the LORD, and the King’s house and all that came into Solomon’s heart to make in the house of the LORD, and in his own house, he prosperously effected. Verse (12) And the LORD appeared to Solomon by night and said unto him, I have heard thy prayer, and have chosen this place to myself for a house of sacrifice. King Solomon had finished his kingdom assignment and he still had communion and God answered his prayer.
THOUGHT:
The question at hand, when all our speaking engagements, Conferences, Church Assignments, Prayer sessions are completed, etc., will God hear our prayer? Let’s read the instructions God gave to King Solomon in verse (13) If I shut up heaven and there be no rain, or if I command the locust to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among my people: Verse (14) If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. Verse (15) Now my eyes shall be open, and my ears attentive unto the prayer that is made in this place.
After we have completed our Kingdom Assignment, what is the state of our posture before God? Do we humble ourselves? Is it possible that we do have wicked ways as Yahweh’s children, and could it be that we have unconfessed sins in our hearts? When all our Kingdom Assignments are completed, will God hear our Prayer? Will He be pleased with us as He was with King Solomon after he had completed his kingdom assignment?
